In a prestigious annual celebration held under the patronage of Engineer Ahmed Suleiman Al-Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Charitable Foundation for Orphan Care (Ikhaa), the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation was recognized for its noteworthy contributions to the “Saleh Kamel Model Homes for Orphans” project. The event took place at a prominent hotel in Riyadh and was graced by the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan.
The “Ikhaa” Foundation acknowledged the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation for its pivotal role in providing psychological, social, and life stability to beneficiaries through the model homes, creating a distinctive residential environment that fosters self-sufficiency.
Attended by dignitaries, public figures, representatives of charitable institutions, and numerous members of the “Ikhaa” Foundation, the ceremony featured presentations showcasing the achievements of “Ikhaa” in various fields. A documentary film about the “Saleh Kamel Model Homes for Orphans” project was screened, where beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Saleh Abdullah Kamel Humanitarian Foundation and its late founder, Sheikh Saleh Abdullah Kamel, may God have mercy on him.
Expressing pride and happiness, Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation, affirmed the Foundation’s commitment to its mission of supporting social solidarity, achieving developmental sustainability, and providing comprehensive support for the orphan segment—a priority in Saudi society.
Mr. Abdullah Saleh highlighted the rapid growth of orphan associations in the Kingdom, with 27 associations established after the launch of Saudi Vision 2030, representing a 54% increase. Emphasizing the importance of collaboration, he stated that such partnerships align with Vision 2030’s goals of transforming beneficiaries from dependency to development.
Providing an update on the “Saleh Kamel Model Homes for Orphans” project, Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel revealed that there are now 37 homes across the Kingdom, benefiting 436 orphans. Efforts are ongoing, with the partnership between the Saleh Kamel Humanitarian Foundation and the Ikhaa Foundation focused on achieving psychological and social stability, creating a stimulating residential environment, and offering empowerment programs and qualification courses for the labor market.
Concluding his speech, Mr. Abdullah Saleh Kamel expressed gratitude to the wise leadership for their generous support to the non-profit sector through the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development.
