In a significant stride towards fostering linguistic heritage, the Saleh Abdullah Kamel Humanitarian Foundation (Yesterday) formalized a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language. The objective is to leverage their collective capabilities and expertise to revitalize and reinforce the Arabic language among children, thereby activating a strategic partnership between the government sector and the non-profit sector.
The signing ceremony, held in Riyadh, witnessed the presence of Mr. Hamid bin Muhammad Fayez, Deputy Minister of Culture, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the King Salman Complex, alongside Mr. Mohieddin Saleh Kamel, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Saleh Abdullah Kamel Humanitarian Foundation. The MOU was officially signed by Mr. Hammam Khaled Zarei, CEO of the Foundation, and Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, Acting Secretary-General of the Academy.
The primary goals outlined in the memorandum of understanding include fostering collaboration in the development of educational platforms and tools dedicated to enriching the Arabic language for children. A key initiative involves creating a digital, spoken, and illustrated dictionary tailored for the kindergarten stage. Additionally, there are plans to publish books aimed at children, focusing on priority areas such as children’s literature and strengthening their command of the Arabic language.
The MOU extends to the joint preparation of a family-oriented guide in the field of language education. Both entities will collaborate on writing educational series tailored for Arab children and learners of the Arabic language. The agreement also highlights cooperation in supporting digital innovations within this educational domain.
This strategic collaboration aligns with the Saleh Abdullah Kamel Humanitarian Foundation’s overarching goal of reviving the Arabic language. The Foundation aims to achieve this objective through close coordination and cooperation with relevant authorities, creating educational platforms and tools to enrich the Arabic language for Arab children.
